Pediatric Neurosurgical Specialists at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital

Lori McBride, MD, a Fellowship trained pediatric neurosurgeon, received her medical degree from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. She completed an internship in general surgery from LSU Medical Center and a neurosurgery residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) in Denver, Co. Following a one-year Fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Texas Southwestern at Dallas, she returned to Denver to serve as an assistant professor in pediatric neurosurgery at UCHSC, where she remained until returning to Louisiana in 2005. She is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgeons, and is a member of several industry societies including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Joint Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care, and the American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons.

Allen S. Joseph, MD, received his M.D. degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He completed a rotating internship and year of surgical residency at Ben Taub Hospital/Texas Medical Center Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. Dr. Joseph completed his neurosurgical residency at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Medical Center Affiliated Hospitals. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgical through The Hospital for Sick Children/University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. He served in the military as Chief of Neurosurgery Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington and was Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery of Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. Dr. Joseph currently serves as an assistant professor of pediatrics and neurosurgery with the Louisiana State University School of Medicine and as an assistant professor of neurosurgery with Tulane School of Medicine. He is board certified and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Scott Soleau, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition, he completed a pediatric neurosurgical Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a neurosurgical spine Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Soleau is Board Certified in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
