The Pediatric Development and Therapy Center offers a multi-disciplinary approach to the assessment and management of pediatric developmental disabilities. Developmental delays can range from congenital malformations to the Autism Spectrum. We work to identify your child’s specific needs, and varied members of the team will evaluate your child to make appropriate developmental recommendations.

|Steven D. Felix, MD is Board Certified in pediatrics and developmental pediatrics. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and medical degree from Boston University. Dr. Felix completed both his Internship and residency at Oakland Naval Hospital and did his Fellowship training at the University of Washington. Dr. Felix specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of children with developmental and behavioral conditions.|
|Cindy E. Chestaro, M.D. received her medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic and then went on to complete a residency in Pediatrics at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, IL. Dr. Chestaro then completed a Fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at The University of Chicago Medicine & Biological Sciences. She specializes in the diagnostic evaluation, biomedical management, and family support for children with motor, communicative, sensory, developmental, genetic, neurological, learning, and behavioral disorders – including Autism, Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delays, PDD, Learning Disorders, Speech Disorders, Behavioral Disorders, ADHD and Asperger’s. Dr. Chestaro speaks both English and Spanish.|

Special Needs Pediatric Transportation Safety Program
Sometimes, a child's special healthcare needs may require additional support or attention during transportation to keep them safe. Our program is staffed by physical and occupational therapists who have received training in transporting children with special healthcare needs and hold Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) certifications.

Therapists evaluate each patient and determine the appropriate seating solution that will work for the child, the caregivers and the family vehicle. Outpatient evaluations require a prescription from the doctor.
