Pediatric Anesthesiology - Baton Rouge, LA

Pediatric Anesthesiology

Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital works closely with the physicians and nurses of Anesthesiology Group Associates of Baton Rouge who has provided compassionate and quality anesthesia care for more than 40 years.

The doctors and nurses on our anesthesiology team have special training in giving anesthesia to children. Our main goal is to ensure your child’s safety and comfort.

There are three main types of anesthesia:

  • General anesthesia means they will get medicines that make them fall asleep. This is most often used for surgeries or other procedures where they need to lay completely still.
  • Regional anesthesia means medicine will block feeling in certain parts of the body. This is most often used for outpatient procedures or minor surgeries.
  • Moderate sedation means pain medicine that will help your child stay calm and comfortable.
